Austen (Vex) Kurono

Hello! I'm a nineteen year old living on the east coast of the U.S. I'm passionate about my writing and love to share my passion with others. Check out some of my stuff on Wattpad or Ao3!

Writing Commissions!

What's that?
Well, I see all these people creating beautiful works of art for customers for small amounts of cash. So, I figured I'd give it a shot to share my writing! I don't do a ton of commissioning, but if you give me some fun idea to toy around with, I'll consider giving it a shot! You can also check out my portfolio below to see what kinds of things I write

My Writing Journey...

It started with a picture book...
In second grade, I created a picture book about a bunny who was kidnapped, and her foster mother, a fox, had to go and save her. Super dark for an eight year old, but that's how I've always been! From there, I wrote more dark and twisted stories, seeing how horrible of a situation I can create. In sophomore year of high school, I finished my first novel: Alkali Blood. This really set the tone for my stories afterwards, as I always compare my plots to it, thinking "how can I make this more like Alkali Blood" or "how can I make this better than Alkali Blood." Currently, that is still my only finished novel, but I have many in the works as well. Check em out below!

  • Psychological thriller/horror

  • Teen romance

  • Murder and kidnapping

  • Fantasy

  • College romance

  • Kinky stuff (I get slightly uncomfortable with this, but I can write it and I do end up enjoying writing it overall)

How to Save a Life

Kian Jordan’s life and everything he’s come to know as a teenage boy is suddenly flipped upside down when he meets Noel Dawes sitting on the railing of a bridge downtown.Kian, top of his class, but also the biggest asshole of the school, has never really had friends. Sure, there’s a small group of people at school who call themselves his friends, but he considers them inferior to him and just some obstacles trying to push their way into stopping him from obtaining his goal: success and fame.Noel, secretive, quiet, a bit timid at first, but fiery when she’s confident, is a child-star singer, known worldwide as Glitch. Struggling with an abusive family and trying to protect her brother, she finds herself on this bridge often, but this was the final time; she was sure of it. But, with Kian in the picture now, she has a new goal in mind: teach him to recognize and appreciate the small things in life, just as she had done herself. Maybe she’ll be able to change Kian’s attitude about life, and maybe, just maybe, he’ll change her attitude as well.

Trust (An Alkali Blood Side Story)

(It's recommended to read Alkali Blood first for context, but it isn't necessary!)Jessie, a local bartender in Archer City, is a master at keeping secrets. One of her biggest secrets is her true persona: Karma, a vigilante in the city, fighting crime and killing evildoers that evade the corrupted justice system. Moon, a lesser-known vigilante, stumbles upon her in her workplace by coincidence. He thinks he has her right where he wants her, but what he doesn’t know is that it’s quite the opposite. Jessie has Moon right where she wants him.As Moon delves deep into who Jessie is as a person, trying to crack open her secrets, he finds himself opening up about his own secrets to her as well. But it’s only a matter of time before Jessie’s secrets catch up, endangering herself, Moon, and her new friends. It’s up to her to fight the past and kill it for good, because only she knows what her past is capable of.

Dare

Jordan and Brayden hate each other. They can’t interact without it turning into a fist-fight. The main reason they hate each other anyway is solely because of their competitiveness. They’re both natural geniuses, but Brayden fights her for the valedictorian position every year, and has won every time so far. Jordan never cared about being valedictorian until Brayden started going out of his way to be an asshole about it, and now, she’s determined to try and beat him to the position. But, her best friend Mallory, a rich bitch who thinks sex solves everyone’s problems, sets them up in an endless game of truth or dare. Jordan, now stuck in the same living space as Brayden and growing increasingly more pissed off about his presence, has to find a way to outsmart Mallory into throwing the game, or she has to win this impossible game against an impossible enemy.
